Taxi Hubert — the private-hire ride, from booking to payment

Booking a ride still means a phone call. The passenger knows neither when the car will arrive nor what the trip will cost before being in it: the fare is announced on arrival, payment is cash or a terminal on board, and no record of the ride remains. For the operator the constraint is the mirror image — take the requests, assign them to an available driver and track the fleet in real time, without the means of a global platform.

Two separate apps rather than one with two modes: one for the passenger, one for the driver, each showing only what its job requires. The passenger enters the trip, gets an estimate computed from distance and the actual route, then books immediately or for later. Once the ride is accepted, the vehicle position streams onto the map continuously: no more calling to ask where the driver is. Payment happens in the app, by saved card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, with the card never stored on the server. Every ride leaves an invoice, a history entry and a two-way rating between passenger and driver. Both apps are published on the App Store and Google Play, and the service stays reachable from the website for anyone who would rather install nothing.
